Walking is an important physical activity. In the age of vehicles and various transportation means, many people do not do enough walking. However, medical practitioners recommend at least an hour of walking per day for optimal physical health. Like any other exercise, you need the right gear for walking.

For this reason, there are specific shoes designed for walking, known as walking trainers. You can choose your walking shoes based on the terrain on which you intend to walk.

    Types of walking trainers

There are many types of walking shoes based on their design, comfort, material, brand, and terrain. This post will discuss walking shoes for different kinds of terrain. They include:

Furthermore, track walking shoes are designed to grip the ground to allow for walking in any wether, including the cold and rainy weather. However, they are not designed for high mileage, which may affect their last.

    • Cushioned shoes

These are padded shoes with cushioned soles that provide added support and protection when walking. They are perfect for walking on rugged terrain with possibilities of hurting yourself, like thorny and rocky surfaces. Walking while wearing cushioned shoes often feels like walking on a fluffy marshmallow or pillow. They are built to cradle every stride and absorb the impact of your foot as it hits the ground. They also have sock absorption features dispersed in their mid and outer soles. By absorbing the impact of each step, they reduce strain on your joints and muscles when walking. Furthermore, they allow your feet to move freely without excessive restriction or too much support.

    • Cross training walking shoes

You can wear these shoes on your walk to the gym and still wear them while working out. This way, you do not need to change out of the shoes.

    Conclusion
