Step 1: Install and open your Instagram app on your phone
If you already have the Instagram app installed on your phone then you don’t have to go to your play store or apple store to reinstall the app. Once you have the app on your phone, open the app, and let’s get going!
Step 2: Tap the + icon in the Instagram app
What you would want to do next is to look for the “+” icon at the top right corner of your screen and click on it.
Step 3: A pop-up menu appears
If you did click on the right icon, then a pop-up menu should appear just like the one in the image you have below.
Step 5: Tab on “live” to get started
From the pop-up menu, tab on”live”. Then look for the camera button and click on it to start the live video. Here comes the amazing part you don’t have to start posting on your feed that you have started a live session on Instagram, Instagram will automatically send a notification to your followers who are currently online that you started a live video.
Step 6: End the live video
To end a live video, click on the “x” icon at the top right-hand corner and that’s all. You have just ended your live video on Instagram. Another thing you should take note of is that as followers begin to join your live broadcast, their usernames will appear at the bottom of your screen.
Instagram will show you how many people watched your live video. You will also be able to share the video for the next 24 hours. This will allow those who missed your live broadcast to view it on your Instagram stories.

To end a live video, click “x” in the top right-hand corner.
How to go live with a friend on Instagram
What if you want to go live with a friend or you just want to go live with one of your loyal customers? Well, I get you covered. Here we will be sharing with you two different ways you can go live with your friend, loyal customers, or business partner.
Step 1: Open the Instagram app
Launch the Instagram application on your preferred device.
Step 2: Tap the + icon in the Instagram app
Click on the “+” icon at the top right corner of your screen. A pop-up menu appears.
Step 3: Click on” Live” to get started
Click on “live,” then look for the camera button and click on it to start the live video.
Step 4: Click on the first Icon from your left
Once you are live, click the first icon from your left which is at the bottom right corner of your screen. You can only go live with someone who is already watching your live video and you can only have four hosts for a live broadcast.
Step 5: Click “send to” if you want to invite someone to join your live broadcast
If you want to invite someone who is not currently watching your live broadcast to join you, click “Send to” and search for their name in the list to send a request to them to watch your live video.
Step 6: Click on a friend’s name
Next, click on a friend’s name and then click “Add.” Once they have accepted your live video request, their video should appear alongside yours on a split-screen. To remove your friend from the Live video, click the “x” icon at the top right of their screen.
Step 7: End your live video
To end your live video, tap “x” in the upper right-hand corner.
Here is another way you can go live with a friend on Instagram
Step 1: Open the Instagram app
Launch the Instagram application on your android or iPhone.
Step 2: Swipe left to access the camera button
Swipe left, just below the camera button, and you will see some options. Search for live and click on it. Instagram will automatically send a notification to some of your followers who are currently online that you are going live on Instagram.
Step 3: Click on the first Icon from your left
Once you are live, click on the first Icon from your left which is at the bottom right corner of your screen. You can only go live with someone who is already watching your live video.
Step 4: Click “send to” if you want to invite someone to join your live broadcast
If you want to invite someone who is not presently watching your live broadcast to join you, click “Send to” and search for their name in the list to send a request to them to watch your live broadcast
Step 5: Add a friend to your live broadcast
Next, click on a friend’s name and then click “Add.” Once they have accepted your live video request, their video should appear alongside yours on a split-screen. To remove your friend from the Live video, click the “x” icon at the top right of their screen
Step 6: End your live video
To end your live video, tap “x” in the upper right-hand corner.
How to request to be in another user live broadcast on Instagram
1. Open another user’s live broadcast and click “Request.”
2. Next, click “Send Request” to request to be in their live broadcast.
3. You will receive a notification whether or not your request has been accepted or denied by the host
