New franchise Lucknow Super Giants has played just two IPL seasons, and in those two years, the team has accounted for three IPL centuries.
Two of those centuries came from skipper KL Rahul, while one came off the bat of Quinton de Kock.
Both played their roles to the ‘T’ as Lucknow went on to reach the last four in the 2022 IPL. However, this season, none of their batters managed to get a century; nonetheless, the team finished in third place and became popular among the IPL Betting enthusiasts.
Brought by the RP Sanjiv Goenka group, LSG has seen some rapid rise, but has always fallen short of giving their best in Knockout stages.
In order to improve their performance, they would need more centuries from their top batters. For now, we think that fans can very well cherish these three gems which we will revisit below.

KL Rahul 103* in 60 balls vs Mumbai Indians:
Playing his 100th IPL match, KL Rahul slammed his third IPL century at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
This will be considered one of his classiest innings as it came off just 60 balls—this one was the fastest of his four IPL centuries.
He took on the might of the Mumbai Indians bowlers and deposited them all over the park. He spared no one, be it pacer Jaydev Unadkat or spinner Murugan Ashwin. He would reach his fifty in just 33 balls and then continue to attack.
He carved Tymal Mills for a boundary to get to his hundred off 56 balls and would remain unbeaten as LSG posted a mammoth total of 199/4.
This was too much for the Mumbai Indians, and eventually LSG would win the match by 18 runs, courtesy of their skipper.
KL Rahul 103* in 62 balls vs Mumbai Indians:
Just a week after that match, Lucknow landed at Mumbai’s Den-Wankhede Stadium and managed to come out unscathed. It was a collective effort from Lucknow bowlers who bowled well to defend the 168-run target which was posted on the brilliance of KL Rahul.
LSG had batted first, and after de Kock was gone, Rahul held one end. He targeted the spinners and then went after some of the pacers, reaching his fifty in 37 balls.
He didn’t look back and started to go after the likes of Daniel Sams and Riley Meredith as he went on to complete his century in 61 balls.
Despite being the favourites, Mumbai once again lost to Lucknow and Rahul was named Man of the Match.
Quinton de Kock vs KKR:
Against KKR at DY Patil Stadium, Lucknow openers Quiton De Kock and KL Rahul would go on a rampage. They would share an unbeaten 210-run stand with de Kock going all guns blazing.
Credit must go to his skipper KL Rahul, who played second fiddle at the other end as De Kock continued to attack.
De Kock completed his century, and alongside Rahul, walked back to the pavilion amidst loud cheers from the crowd.
KKR came threateningly close to overhauling this total, but couldn’t do it, losing the match by just 2 runs.
Concluding Thoughts:
The top three knocks from the Lucknow Super Giants, which were mentioned above, had one thing in common.
They were all paced brilliantly.
In all three innings, the batters didn’t go after the bowlers right from the word ‘go.’ In fact, they paced the innings so brilliantly, taking singles and occasionally finding the odd boundary.
Once they were set, they went after the bowlers and then slowed things down again. Now, the focus was on running the twos so that the scoreboard keeps ticking.
Once they reached fifty mark, there was no looking back, and they just went after the bowlers, going all out.
There is also one more thing in common: All three knocks came in winning cause.
